Why do vaccines protect against a specific viral disease?
A. They don’t – only antibiotics protect against viruses.
B. They remain in the body and attack the virus.
C. They stimulate the sweat glands to eliminate the virus from the body.
D. They stimulate the immune system to recognize and kill any virally infected cells the next time you’re exposed to the disease.
I think i have tonsilitis (urgh spelling is bad i know)
but i also have this bad cough which is producing more mucus, is this common with the virus/bacterial infection? Or do i just have a combination of both?
Replace the word "disease" with virus or bacteria if you prefer. A simple yes or no will do.
I just realized that I am getting a sore throat. I want to pin point this bad boy. When do you think I got it? (assuming its a virus)
A doctor will give you an antibiotic to treat a bacterial infection, but you are given a vaccine to keep a virus (and some bacteria) from making you ill. What is the difference between these approaches?
