I am looking into the medical transcription certificate offered at our community college, and I am curious to know what the job is really like? What are the chances of being employed once certified? I would rather not waste my time and money on the program if I am not able to find a job. I have researched online however I would like to talk with someone who has first hand experience.

I am a Certified Medical Transcriptionist. I’ve taken a 3 year course and 4 month internship. I have applied to every medical transcription company I can find. Ive been to mtstars, mtwanted, mtdaily, monster, everywhere! No one will hire you unless you have minimum 2 years experience! How am I suppose to get 2 years experience if no one will hire me! Ive put too much time and money into this, can anyone help me?

Is it true that with voice recognition software that medical transcriptionists will be out of jobs? Supposed to finish registration with Everett Community College tomorrow but heard the rumor today that it would be a waste of time and money. Please help me. Would it be more sensible to switch to medical billing and coding? The more answers I get the better to figure out what to do. Thank you in advance for helping me.

I’m looking into an online course that can help me become a medical transcriptionist in about 6 months. My husband and I wanted to know before we invest the time and money if it is even worth it! We have a little boy getting ready to start school and would like to have a job where I can make my own hours…work at home…pick him up…drop him off…actually talk to the teachers and be somewhat involved…we also hope to expand our family soon and thought this might be the way to go to keep our new baby from having to go to daycare. How much do these types of jobs usually make?…And how can I tell if the online course I choose is legit?

Medical Transcription Is this a good stay at home job or just a waste of time and money? I have tried a few other stay at home jobs and it was a joke! . Is this job different?
