I am a stay-at-home mother with a chemical engineering degree but made a career change to medical transcription about a year ago so I can take home-based jobs and be more "available" to my children.

im thinking about going to school to be a medical transcriptionist. from what i understand you can work at home. would this be a good part time job for a stay at home mom? how do you get the job? do you do it all over the internet or do you go in for an actual interview? how does it pay when you first start out? anything you know will be helpful

I’m a stay at home mom but would like to work from home. I was thinking about becoming a medical transcriptionist. I’ve heard that some places will hire AND train you. What are the odds of that and anyone know any listings or complanies that are hiring? Or do I have to get the certification? We really don’t have the extra 00 plus to get trained but if its absolutely necessary than I have no choice. Please help!!??

Medical Transcription Is this a good stay at home job or just a waste of time and money? I have tried a few other stay at home jobs and it was a joke! . Is this job different?
