Would anyone hire me as a medical transcriptionist if I was finished with all classes required to graduate from the medical transcription program at my school and taken the AHDI (AAMT) exam, but not yet received the actual diploma? I’m finished with classes and taking the exam next month, but I won’t get my diploma until December. I know it depends on the employer, but is there a chance anyone would hire me without it, or will I have to wait?
I’ve been a medical transcriptionist for seven years, but the director I had in the past wasn’t very structured. She left and our new boss is setting line counts we have to hit or we don’t get paid for a full eight hours when we work from home and this seems only fair, but I’m just wondering if the standard she has set is fair. Thanks for your help.
