I had the flu about two weeks ago. I feel a bit better but I’m still really run down and the cough seems to be worse. I can barely stand up after coughing. I have a doctor’s appt. later today but I’m just curious if anyone knows anything.

On the box of Tylenol cold and flu, it says that it’s meant to relieve symptoms like fever, coughing, and congestion. In biology class last year, i got the message that symptoms are there for a reason, and relieving them will do you no good. For example, your body gets a fever so the immune system can speed up to fight the infection faster. If you take any medicine that might relieve a fever, you’re slowing down your immune system. I’m not saying I’m completely correct, this is just what i was led to believe.

Experts, is it bad to take symptom relief medicine?

Recently a friend became ill and everyone including her felt it may be flu as it is flu season. But, she complained of shortness of breath and had to be given oxygen. Later she had the problem again and had to be given oxygen. It is said that she had a bag full of fluid removed from around her heart and mucus started to solidify in her lungs.Diagnosis was bilateral pulmonary disease which few people have heard about or understand except that it affected her breathing. What causes such a disease? Could the aircondition in an office be a factor?

This is my third day of whatever it is that I have and my back molars have been aching since yesterday. I want to know if this is caused by viruses or if its something seperate. It really hurts and I’m 6 months pregnant and can’t take much for pain. So is the teeth pain related to the cold or flu?

Last season I went without a flu shot because I couldn’t find a doctor that had preservative free shots. I’d really like to get one this year but I’m not sure how to find this short of calling every doctor in the area.

I have the flu. I have not had it before and was wondering how long does it last ?? I can’t stand it. The severe soreness through my whole body is starting to go away, it’s the fatigue part that won’t go away. Any remedies to help the severe fatigue????? I can’t even pick up a book or I drop it that’s how bad it is.

I went to the er on tuesday thinking that I had a kidney stone. They did a CAT scan and determined that I ruptured an ovarian cyst. I have been having a type of pulling feeling on the side of the cyst along with nausea and a persistent achey feeling (kind of like when you get a cold or the flu). Is this normal? Thank you.

The pain happens every 15 minutes or so. My throat is a little sore on the same side. I don’t seem to have any of the other symptoms associated with an earache except that I generally feel miserable, perhaps a flu virus. Thank you.

My runny nose just developed today, and I would say my throat feels a little weird but I am hoping that is just from the runny nose as well. Does anyone know if this is a symptom of the swine flu? I’ve never really had the flu before so I don’t know anything about it.

I had unprotected sex one month and few days ago. After one month and few days I suffered from flu but the symptoms were caf, no fever, no head ach, thick nose fluid and no rash, no swollen lymph nodes. Can we say is it early symptom of Hiv aids?
