On the box of Tylenol cold and flu, it says that it’s meant to relieve symptoms like fever, coughing, and congestion. In biology class last year, i got the message that symptoms are there for a reason, and relieving them will do you no good. For example, your body gets a fever so the immune system can speed up to fight the infection faster. If you take any medicine that might relieve a fever, you’re slowing down your immune system. I’m not saying I’m completely correct, this is just what i was led to believe.
Experts, is it bad to take symptom relief medicine?
Thanks!!
Also, why does a fever accompany the sickle cell disease?

Is it different for everyone? I know the symptoms are cough, runny nose, sore throat, body aches , fever, ect. but what is the first symptom?
It feels dry and irritating – like I need to keep swallowing or drinking water. It’s been like this for the past two days, and now I’ve started coughing too. I’m not coughing up phlegm, but I do have to blow my nose a lot – and my eyes feel tired and droopy. I don’t think I have a fever though.
What do I have and how do I cure it? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!
I had unprotected sex one month and few days ago. After one month and few days I suffered from flu but the symptoms were caf, no fever, no head ach, thick nose fluid and no rash, no swollen lymph nodes. Can we say is it early symptom of Hiv aids?
My wife recently had a back spinal fusion surgery. Ever since the surgery she has had a viral infection, according to her personal doctor. She has fever, vomiting, dizziness, and this has been going on for 2 months and no end in sight. Her doctor says it just needs to be waited out. I think that is BS. There must be a doctor who specializes in infectious diseases. Can anyone give me some leads? We are in the Seattle area with some great hospitals, I know. My wife is allergic to penicillin and its various forms, BTW.
I have always had warm skin. My hands arent the normal warm people have, mine are extremely hot. And everyone tells me it all the time. I never ever have a fever, but my hands and skin are always extremely warm. Could this be like a symptom to a disease?
I run cross country, and today we were running 5 miles.

I know the swine flu gives the symptoms of sneezing, coughing and fever that a normal flu gives you. But I want to know what symptoms does the swine flu gives you besides those symptoms. Like a symptom that would let you know you have the swine flu.
I’m worried I might have it cause I I’ve had a runny nose and been coughing a lot for about a week. Also I just heard the swine flu came around close to where I live too. ![]()
