No, they have nothing in common, except for:
Vitamin C is often prescribed for those with arthritis.
Vitamin C is also needed to transport iron.
By the way, Celebrex has some pretty serious side effects and became a restricted last resort medication in this country around 3 years ago. It has been linked to heart attacks.
If you’ve only just been diagnosed, and aren’t too disabled, I would recommend talking with the pharmacist and doctor about other options.
I was treated for years with aspirin, vitamin C and indocid (no side effects so far), that’s a fairly time honoured combination.
Are you vegetarian or a non red meat eater? That’s the most common cause of low iron levels. You need to use a really well planned diet to replace the iron you don’t get from meat, or use a supplement.
Take Vitamin C if you are taking iron. The body needs it to mobilise
the iron, otherwise you just pass most of it out in the loo!
