i am interested in becoming a medical transcriptionist but i do not want to work in a doctors office first. is it possible to begin a career in medical transcription and do it strictly from home, even if i have just aquired the degree? and if so, what are some of the issues i may have to face when starting off?

there are companies that will allow you to strictly work at home. However I myself don’t advise it because you might not always have stable work coming in and with a doctor’s office you can always be guaranteed a job.

i doubt anyone will hire you if they cant see what kind of work you do first.

you need to prove you know what you are doing first
    start at a hospital

You will have to work in an office setting first. It’s not like sewing dollar store items together or painting crafts for craft shows. It’s a serious career and if you don’t have any experience, it’s rare you can even find a job in the field.

I was hired at the hospital where I externed from a trade school. I don’t plan on even having enough credentials to do it at home for at least another 5 years.
